May this New Year bring Health, Happiness,
Love, Peace and Joy to you all.
Please take that first baby step for a healthy new you.
Throw out the junk food you have hidden somewhere in the back of your pantry or fridge. Come on you know what I mean..!
The oreo's you "bought for the kids" that somehow they don't even know you have and guess what? They shouldn't have them either with childhood obesity at the highest levels ever.
Drink more water..okay so you gag on it and need sweet drinks...NO YOU DON'T...!
If you have one glass of water every time you eat you will be doing your body good.
Don't forget breakfast.. Yes, I know you have heard it all before...it's true and you will hear it more..No sugary cereals either, that's just like cookies and milk...
I don't want to make you crazy on this the start of a New Year but if you keep it simple you won't get off track.. Try and have a protein and healthy carbohydrate with your 3 main meals and for your snacks think a handful of almonds or an apple...Don't forget that water!
Next you know what I'm gonna say....GET MOVIN'.. Your choice here but do something. Walk, run, swim, you know the deal..DO IT.. don't forget to add weights to your workout. It helps build strong muscles yes but it also helps to build strong bones, so get lifting.
Don't forget to bend over and try and touch your toes, without bending at the knees..(no cheating here..!) If you can't touch your toes then either your hamstrings (the muscles in the back of your legs) are tight or your BELLY is in the way. Stretching is great for muscles and flexibility.
And my biggest and best tip for the New Year is check with your Doctor before starting any diet or exercise program just to be safe. Keep your goals simple so you don't get frustrated and you will succeed. Stay positive and good things will happen.
Happy New Year
Leslie
